FRIENDLY WIN
From the 10 fixtures scheduled this was Crofts fifth match and third game at home.
Again Croft loss the toss, as in all matches this season, enabling Leverington choice of
innings, and opted to put Croft in first.

wicket by Stephen Kent (27) & Neil Parkinson (14), who was first to depart in the 13th
over having been at trhe crease for 45 mins.
No's 3 & 4 Steve Revett (24) & Jon Norman (30) contined the steady run rate 3 per
over and added a further 46 runs for the 3 rd wicket, both being removed by John
Gill, bowled and LBW respectively
New bats Gareth Kent (12) and Jon Dale (23) kept the score board moving, with Jon's
big hitting spreading the outfielders to boundary. John Rowland & John Loveday also
added useful runs before the innings closed at 157 for 8 wickets.

Leverington struggled from the opening ball with Steve Saberton's pacey deliveries and
the accuracy of John Rowlands slow / medium pacers - opener Bailey went in the
second over bowled by Rowland.
James Carter came to the crease and nearly batted through, falling for the 8th wicket,
having batted nearly 2 hours for his knock of 37. He was the only batsman to achieve
double figures.
The foundation of this win was laid by the opening bowling partnership of Saberton
and Rowland who finished with creditable bowling figures of 7-1-11-0 and 7-3-15-3,
restricting the visitors to only 26 off the first 14 overs,
Young David Goodwin bowled 4 overs taking 1 wicket for only 9 runs, Jon Dale again
showed safe hands holding 2 catches in the outfield to the delight of Percy Bulsara
and Gareth Kent.
Another good all round dispaly in all departments of the game helped to secure this
79 run victory.
