FIRST LEAGUE WIN

A good all round bowling and fielding performance enabled Croft to record their first league win in the Mid- Norfolk Sunday League.

Important catches were held and three stumpings by wicket keeper Neil Parkinson contributed to the steady bowling of Steve Saberton (3 for 19, off 10 overs). John Loveday mopped up the tail (4 for 19) – the last 4 batsmen all recording ducks. Birchams No.4 Preston was the only batsman to cause problems scoring 35 (81 mins). He was finally removed by Stephen Revett, Jon Dale taking a good catch in the deep outfield. Bircham finished on a score 92, their innings being completed in the 32 nd over.

Bowling - Steve Saberton 3 for 19, Gareth Kent 0 for 16, John Loveday 4 for 19, Jon Dale 0 for 20, Stephen Revett 2 for 11
