We understand that a 10-year old Welney boy suffered burns to his chest and face during an accident at his home in Chestnut Avenue in the late afternoon/early evening. An ambulance attended and the crew were assisted by a Magpas Helimedix team who arrived in a shared Magpas/Cambridgeshire Police helicopter that landed on the allotments. The injured boy was taken by ambulance to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where he was said to be in a serious but stable condition. We wish him a speedy recovery. Local resident Roger Irons kindly provided the photograph below taken at about 7.40pm. |
