BEATEN BY THE WEATHER
Match Drawn - abandoned due to rain.
Old Wilhads won the toss and invited Welney to bat first under overcast
conditions. The match started earlier than usual at 1.10 pm and the rain held
off for a little over an hour. Croft's opening partneship was still intact with
the score on 78 when rain
stopped play.
After a 20 minute break the fine drizzle stopped, allowing a further 6 overs to be
bowled before play was suspended again, and as the rain became more persistent
it was decided to call the match off.
During the second session Stephen Revett was bowled by P.Kowpowitz having
scored 42 and Mark Brown briefly joined Duncan Hobbs to take the score to 104,
scoring 12 (2 s 4's) and Duncan retired, also not out with 42 in the book (5 sx 4's).
Duncan Hobbs 42 not out (5 x 4's)
Stephen Revett 42 (8 x 4's)
Mark Brown 12 not out.
Team - John Loveday (captain), Neil Parkinson, Duncan Hobbs, Mark Brown,
