This season's 'Presentation Evening' was
again held at the Lamb & Flag on Friday October 5th with club members, family and friends in attendance. An enjoyable evening was had by all starting with a 'Hot & Cold' Buffet in the
restaurant.
Club Chairman John Loveday then gave a
short speech thanking those responsible for carrying out the groundsman duties, providing teas and undertaking general admin work. It was noted that the club had a slightly improved
season from last season winning 2 more matches and welcomed the arrival of 3 new players, Duncan & Ashley Hobbs and Mark Brown.
Club Secretary Tony Smart opened the
Presentation section by presenting the
Bowling award to a surprised club
captain JOHN LOVEDAY who headed the averages taking 23 wickets at an average of 14.2
Club Chairman John then presented the
following awards :-
Batting Award SEAN GOODGER
(average 18.5) who just pipped Stuart Singleterry on 18.3.
Catching Award to SEAN GOODGER (9
catches)
Fielding Award to SEAN GOODGER.
Ducks Award to SEAN SMYTH, who
narrowly beat the skipper by one '0'.
Captains Award to PERCY BULSARA, still
mesmerising the batsmen at 73 years of age and taking valuable wickets.
Cricketer of the Year to SEAN GOODGER -
having won 3 specialist awards, there was only one choice and a well deserved winner.
A special mention to both John Loveday and
Sean Smyth, who both played in all this seasons 16 matches.
